What is the course about?
Calling all horn players who enjoy playing ensembles of different combinations! This very successful course, which works on rehearsal techniques, playing skills and understanding a wide variety of musical styles, is now established as a must for all who wish to progress their skills and have fun playing with like-minded people! You need to be an intermediate to advanced level player (Grade 5+) and a confident reader.
Course leader Donald Clist is well known as an inspirational teacher of horn at all levels. Having played for over 20 years with Welsh National Opera orchestra, he is now a freelance player, whose work focusses mainly on chamber music and solo performance and he teaches at Cardiff University. In addition to the ensemble work, there will be opportunities for individual lessons/consultations, by arrangement with Donald.

Group work mostly, with opportunities for individual tuition by arrangement.
Will music be provided in advance of the course?
Yes it will be provided by the tutor on the course. You are if course welcome to bring your own ensemble music.
