What is the course about?

Discover and explore your own best way to connect with the wonder, energy and good things in life - and to boost your health. Your Spiritual Health is grounded in good science and inspired by the best in spirituality. Spirituality is a very personal thing, unique to each of us. Research also shows there are health benefits to spirituality, regardless of how each person defines spirituality for themselves. Spirituality reduces stress through being part of a community. It gives meaning to life. Perhaps most importantly it develops the instinct to show care and compassion to others. Popular practices that originated in spirituality, such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness, have been proven to have benefits to physical and mental health. These practices are shown to improve heart health, immune and endocrine functioning and pain symptoms. Mental health and emotional resilience are also improved; meditation soothes the brain so your brain gets the same benefits as when you are sleeping. You will have the opportunity to explore how you best connect to the wonder and energy of life, practice mindfulness and meditation. You will also be able to reflect on your own sense of spirituality and develop the instinct to show care and compassion to others. This will be an immersive, inspirational experience in a warm, supportive group.

What do we mean by ‘Spirituality’?

We always encourage people to develop their own definition of spirituality. That said, we find that the following definition is helpful in many educational and healthcare environments:

‘Spirituality is everyone’s natural connection with the wonder and energy of life – and the instinct to explore that experience and its meaning. Spirituality affirms that human development is about the growth of compassion and awareness, heart and mind.’

There is a coursebook which will be given to participants on the course. No preparation is required.

No music is provided

The coursebook is available in advance of the course and all exercises are available online ahead of the course.
