What is the course about?

Explore the diverse Musical Theatre song repertoire over the last 80 years with Libby Egwuba and Stephen Dickinson who have a wealth of experience between them. Please bring three songs by any composer from Rodgers and Hammerstein to the present day. We will work on the vocal techniques and dramatic styles required to perform the songs convincingly. Props are welcome!

What will we cover?

The many different styles of singing musical theatre from legit to belt.

How to approach the repertoire with particular emphasis on acting through song.

What will we accomplish? By the end of this course you will be able to…

Be more confident in singing in a variety of musical theatre styles.

Becoming both an actor and a singer in your performance.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Standard: Improver, Confident, Skilful. You will need to be happy to perform in a masterclass setting.

How will the course be taught, and will any preparation be required?

The course uses a masterclass approach with all participants together in the room listening to individual tuition.

Helpful and encouraging feedback is given to each participant in the masterclass.

Please prepare 3 contrasting songs. Duets are also welcome with other participants.

Will music be provided in advance of the course?

No, participants are requested to bring their own music.

Is there anything I need to bring?

No special clothing needed but props welcome if they enhance the performance.
