The role is ideal for those seeking a flexible working week throughout the year (including term time and holidays with some weekend and evening work) who are over 18, able and willing to contribute to all aspects of housekeeping and food and beverage service as required to meet the needs of the business, and prepared to work flexible hours (by negotiation).
You will become part of an efficient and effective team enabling the provision of residential music courses, concerts and other events, also Bed and Breakfast accommodation at our delightful tranquil campus within easy reach of Hitchin town centre and station.

Main Purpose:
Delivering a great guest experience at every stage of our customer journey
Providing support to the Operations (and Music) teams whilst ensuring exceptional customer service, listening to colleagues and guests, and responding with genuine warmth and interest
Maintain and follow all security, health and safety, (covid-) hygiene and distancing, and other relevant policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities include some or all of the following:
Housekeeping
Ensuring high standard of cleanliness throughout the campus
Cleaning and servicing guest rooms and bathrooms before and after arrival, including bed-making, replenishing toiletries and refreshment stations
Cleaning and sanitisation of public areas, bathrooms, WC’s, teaching rooms and performance spaces
Laundry
Laundering of bed linen, towels, table cloths etc as required
Ironing, including use of rotary iron as necessary
Food service
Preparing dining rooms
Serving meals and beverages
Clearing tables and washing up
Cleaning of work surfaces
Disposal of food waste and rubbish
Assist with storage of food supplies and other deliveries
Break times and Bar work
Preparing and serving tea/coffee refreshments
Serving drinks
Cash and card handling (bar) Restocking shelves and fridges
Setting up and clearing away before and after events
Setting up for events
Setting out seating/tables
Assembling/disassembling staging
General housekeeping, tidying and preparing for events
General
Engaging directly with and maintaining positive relationships with all clients, tutors, staff and other visitors
Greeting and checking–in guests, helping with queries
Occasional help in cleaning of furnishings
Undertake other tasks as may from time to time be required
This role will require flexibility and frequent evening and weekend work
Appropriate clothing is provided and should be worn at all times on the premises
Mobile phones should be stored in lockers and kept on silent
The work is spread throughout each week. Shifts are allocated in advance by negotiation though you should be willing in principle to be called on sometimes at short notice to provide extra help as the business demands.
