undefinedLate Starter Strings - Violas

Have you always wanted to play the violin or cello, been curious to pick up a viola…or a double bass?

Benslow Music is launching ‘Late Starter Strings’, offering adult music lovers the opportunity to have a go at learning a violin, viola, cello or double bass. Lessons will be informal and fun, with the opportunity to have lessons individually, in pairs or groups. This is for everyone – regardless of ability! There’ll also be some informal ‘play-along-side’ sessions, where Benslow Late Starters will get the chance to meet each other and play-along-side other learners, to experience the joy and fun of playing together – along with tea and our famous home-made cakes!

Details:

Instrument hire available

Lessons in pairs, groups or one-to-one, or a mixture

Friendly, inspiring teachers

Chance to meet other people, play together, and share stories

No previous experience needed - you don't need to be able to read music before you start learning

What’s different about this?

The experience of taking the leap as an adult and learning a stringed instrument can feel a bit lonely. Benslow Music is creating a fun and supportive environment to learn, and quickly get to play with others – which is what music’s about.

How much does it cost?

One-to-one lessons: £21 for 30 mins

Lessons in pairs: £16 each for 45 mins

Lessons in groups of 3: £11 each for 45 mins

You’ll have a chance to talk to your teacher about which option suits you best. We will happily put you in touch.

I don't have my own instrument.  Can I still take part?

If you don’t have an instrument, you can loan one from Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme for £10 a month (subject to availability). This will be fully set up and you can get help if anything goes wrong with it. Any instruments/bows taken on loan will need to be insured for the duration by yourself with a specialist musical instrument insurer for the details provided by the Loan Scheme – information about potential insurers will be provided.
