What is the course about?
Join Zarek Trio in a course focused on the baroque trio sonata. Whether you are a baroque instrumentalist who is already a member of an ensemble, or you have never played any baroque chamber music, then this is the course for you. The course is open to violinists, flautists, recorder players, oboists, cellists, viola da gambists and harpsichordists.
The course will be taught in a mixture of small and whole group sessions. Pre-existing ensembles may attend and will have chance to play together and solo attendees will be placed in ensembles for some sessions. Though participants don’t necessarily need baroque set-up instruments, all groups will play at A=415 and for string players a baroque bow would be a great help. Harpsichordists may bring their own instruments if they wish.
