Born on 20 March 1917 Vera Lynn began her performing career at the age of 7.  Known as the Forces Sweetheart she played a great part in keeping morale high during the Second World War, and in 2000 was named the Briton who best exemplified the spirit of the 20th century.  In this talk we will explore the life and music of this grand Dame of song. The talk begins with a substantial buffet lunch (please inform us of any dietary requirements when booking).
